Beginning Phonics

24 Cards per Set

Introduce beginning readers to phonics with these full-colour, attractive card sets. Each set contains 24 cards and concentrates on a different area of phonics from single initial and final sounds to blends and digraphs. The teacher records the cards on the Master track of the Language Master unit. The child selects a card from the set and does his/her recording on the Student track, then checking with that of the teacher. Alternatively, the child can listen to the teacher’s recording first.

Each set is a fun and enjoyable way for developing phonic skills. The 9 sets in this series are also an excellent language resource which will help children to develop their vocabulary. Each card has two words, both beautifully illustrated. The whole series contains 432 words.

The 24 talking cards in this programme cover all 21 hard consonant sounds as well as the soft sounds of c and g.<br><br> Each card presents the initial consonant in lower case and two words which begin with that consonant.<br><br>
Initial Consonants		Final consonants are often easier to read than to hear or say! Initial Consonant Blends
The 24 talking cards in this colourful set present the 5 vowels in 4 different forms: short long, r modified, I modified, II modified.<br><br> The see, hear and say format of the talking card enables the child to listen to the different sounds made by each vowel.<br><br>
Vowels		Vowels really are tricky little letters.
