Word Power

This series of 6 card sets helps the pupil to develop advanced word-attack skills. An understanding of these skills enables the pupils to progress in speaking, reading and writing. Each set contains 48 carefully structured Lesson Cards.
Through a variety of activities, the pupils learn how to identify and to construct compound words.
Compound Words		The set covers a range of regular plural forms - adding s, es, ies, ves. It also includes common irregular plurals and plural nouns.
Plurals		The pupil sees and hears how the verb tense changes by the addition of particular endings to the base word - s, es, ed, ing.
Verb Endings s, es, ed, ing
The programme progresses through one, two, three, four and five syllable words improving reading, writing, spelling and pronunciation skills.
Syllables		Pupils see and hear how to identify comparative adjectives by adding r, er, est.
Word Endings er, est		This set enables the pupil to see and hear how words can sound the same but have different spellings (pear pair) or have the same spelling but different sounds (live live).
